We Sometimes Need Correction

Matthew 5:43-48

In order to have 20/20 vision, sometimes we need our vision corrected.

We need corrective vision for our far sightedness (self image).

• You are forgiven
• You are wonderful
• God loves you
• You have a purpose
• You are part of his plan

We need corrective vision for our near-sightedness (image of others).

• There are no enemies
• Every enemy is an opportunity
• The team is “human beings”

We need corrective vision for our astigmatism (“wonky” image).

• Trust
• Optimism
• Justice
• Reward

You Need Some Focus

You Need Light

Matthew 13:10-17

In order to have 20/20 vision:

You need open eyes

• What are your eyes closed to?
  • Where do you and God disagree?
  • Where is your mind already made up?
  • What do you avoid discussing?
• What do you hope to keep others’ eyes closed to?
• What do you hope to keep God’s eyes closed to?

Open your eyes to who god is

Open your eyes to what god wants for you and us

Open your eyes to your own Selfishness
